The Bounsankoba permit is south of the Sambarabougou permit. Previous exploration completed by Hansa Geomin Consulting (HGMC) included geological mapping, soil geochemistry, geophysics (airborne and ground surveys) and saprolite geochemistry using an auger drill rig.
Underlying geology comprises metasediments of the Diale Formation. Outcrop is sparse as the majority of the area is obscured by ferricrete plateaux. The permit covers part of the MTZ which has been named by Bassari within its permits as the Lafia Shear Zone. Artisanal gold workings focus on alluvial deposits shedding the Lafia Shear Zone area.

The Sekhoto prospect in the southern part of Bounsankoba permit was defined by soil and termite geochemistry mainly with an erosional window through the ferricrete duricrust. Sekhoto comprises quartz lodes within sheared and altered metasediments so far defined over a strike length of some 800m. Geochemical sampling and geological mapping supported by trenching and RAB geochemical drilling has returned results including 17.9 g/t Au from rock chip, 2m @ 52.4 g/t Au from trenching and 10m @ 3.6 g/t Au from RAB drilling. RC drilling is proposed to advance this prospect.
Located within the Lafia Shear Zone towards the northern part of the Bounsankoba permit area, Massa Massa comprises a zone of strong termite geochemistry. A trench completed by Bassari at Massa Massa returned 2m @ 11.2 g/t Au. RAB geochemical drilling is proposed as initial follow up. Further encouraging results would warrant RC drilling.
